As we mentioned before, the 2022 Nissan Frontier is the first major update to the Frontier in about 15 years. What’s new for the 2022 Nissan Frontier? For one, it’s got a boxier, more rugged look compared to the old Frontier, perfect for the changing times. Like always, you can get this vehicle in a Crew Cab or King Cab with different bed lengths and seating arrangements, perfect for people who like to choose.
2022 Nissan Frontier vs. 2021 Frontier: Powertrain
When you compare the 2022 vs. 2021 Nissan Frontier, you’ll find that some things have changed for Hewitt drivers while others have remained the same. There’s the same 310 hp engine backing you up in both models that provide a max towing capacity of 6,720 pounds, but the payload has increased in the 2022 model to 1,610 pounds.
2022 Nissan Frontier vs. 2021 Frontier: Trim Levels
It used to be that the S trim was the base trim of the Nissan Frontier. That’s changed for model year 2022, where the S has been deleted and replaced with the SV as the base trim. There’s also a new premium trim, the PRO-X, which is similar to the top trim PRO-4X but doesn’t have as many offroad amenities for drivers in McGregor who may not be interested.
